The other way to do this is to press dot 4 then Dot 1. That inserts an at sign.

Hi,

I was trying to dictate the message and there was a lot of background noise so
I wanted to write it out as well.

To set the braille display input mode to eight dot mode press dots
2-3-6 with the space bar. Once it's set to eight dot mode, you'll need to use
computer braille to type the information you want. To insert the @ sign, just
press the backspace key which is also known as dot seven along with the dot 4
key. I hope this helps.

thanks,

Dacia

 Hi,
Are you using 6-dot or 8-dot Braille input on your display? I'm using
a Braillenote Apex with 8-dot input. Though it means more keystrokes,
I find that I can be much more precise and don't have to worry about
any on-the-fly Braille translation weirdness. So I'm writing in
Computer Braille, and, to capitalize any letter I'll press the
backspace key along with the letter to be typed. The same goes for
the at sign. Instead of typing dot 4 for the at sign, I add the
backspace key and that does the trick. Hope this helps some.

How do you write the at sign in an email address on the iPhone 6 using
a braille display? I'm using a Braille Sense U2.

thanks,

Dacia

Re: how to write the at sign in an email address using a braille display with the Iphone 6

2015-08-05 Thread Tom Lange
Hi,
Are you using 6-dot or 8-dot Braille input on your display? I'm using a
Braillenote Apex with 8-dot input. Though it means more keystrokes, I find that
I can be much more precise and don't have to worry about any on-the-fly Braille
translation weirdness. So I'm writing in Computer Braille, and, to capitalize
any letter I'll press the backspace key along with the letter to be typed. The
same goes for the at sign. Instead of typing dot 4 for the at sign, I add the
backspace key and that does the trick. Hope this helps some.
