This option must vary from place to place as I looked at my settings last night
and the notification option doesn’t appear to be available.

I’m pretty sure that it would cause panic if I exposed myself walking through

Pretty sure exposing yourself in public is illegal in Nz but hey what’s wrong

2020-09-02 Thread prisci
Hi everyone, hope all of you are well. I updated to the latest software
version. The exposure notification tab is no longer hidden so it’s closer to
the emergency SOS tab on the Settings menu. I tried turning it on, but
apparently, exposure notification is not currently available in my area. So to
my understanding, I guess this means that my phone cannot share any COVID-19
exposure data? I think that it is helpful to have these notifications so that
this way we as blind people are more aware about the risks of exposure. We do
not always know if we are 6 feet apart from another person because it is harder
to tell even if you have a cane on hand. unless you are a very tall person
that requires a 6 foot long white cane.

It came from the iPhone settings.
I opened the exposure notification setting, took screen shot, and then had
Voice Dream Scanner OCR the text.
So, that is exactly what it says under that setting.
I had not changed anything.

I hope that helps.

iOS 13.7 and exposure notifications

2020-09-01 Thread Richard Turner
Here is what it actually says about the notifications
Exposure Notifications
Turn on Exposure Notifications
Exposure Notifications are off. If you turn them on, your Public Health
Authority can notify you of possible exposure to COVID-19.
You can turn on Exposure Notifications from your Public Health Authority by
downloading their app in the App Store.
Your iPhone is not collecting or sharing exposure notification data with
anyone. If you turn on Exposure Notifications, information related to your
exposures can only be shared with your permission.
How Exposure Notifications work...
Availability Alerts
Receive a notification if Exposure Notifications are available in your current
region. Your region is determined by your iPhone and does not leave your device.

"He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass
himself,” and we forget that only grace can break the cycle of ancient hatreds
among peoples. (It is notable that while I have regretted not granting grace to
others, I’ve never once regretted extending it.)" - Edward Her Bert
