You really didn't need to continue the conversation on another thread,
and nobody is forcing you to switch to UEB despite your claims.

I Know who I am.
At the moment I use both 'standard English' and UEB.

You're going to have to put up with and use UEB, though, because it's
becoming more and more established as the new standard Braille writing
medium in countries all across the Angophone world. Every sigbnificant
Braille authority in the English-speaking world has adopted UEB.

Hi,

Braille is set to use UEB by default. If you want to use those contractions,
go to VoiceOVer Settings, choose Braille, and then Braille Translation. On
that page, choose English u.S.

Flor is correct, eventually you'll have to learn to use UEB if you're a
heavy braille user and want to continue reading new material.

Re: iOS Braille keyboard and some contractions aren't recognized?

2016-11-06 Thread Shaf Patel
UEB is the worst thing to happen to braille since the beginning of
braille. It was fine how it was, leave it alone and stop making things
more complicated than they need to be.
It's a good idea for everybody to learn it though. Unfortunately it's
here to stay.

Re: iOS Braille keyboard and some contractions aren't recognized?

2016-11-06 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi,

Braille is set to use UEB by default. If you want to use those contractions, go
to VoiceOVer Settings, choose Braille, and then Braille Translation. On that
page, choose English u.S.

Best,
Anna

Using iOS9.3.5 on an Iphone 4S the Braille keyboard, and some English Braille
contractions such as the lower f in to and several othehs don't seem to be
recognized. Any ideas?
