RE: . Accessible App. Free. iRadio - All Radio
I gave this app a try yesterday. The stations I tried broke up quite a bit which made it less than pleasant to listen. I then tried the same stations with TuneIn and they played just fine. The app is easy to use, and seems as accessible as any of the others, but if the stations don't stream well, I won't be using it. I'll give it a few more tries. Maria, I've taken a look at the write-up and it sounds great. Does this mean that you can get away without using ITunes, or are there certain things you really need to use ITunes for? I thought I saw a demo version, or at least one you could download, so does this mean you can try certain features before you buy, do you know? Re: transfering recordings from tune in radio pro, and iradio to computer from phone?
Yes absolutely, it doesn't use your phone at all. It uses the backups that iTunes makes. You can actually take files from your backup without any additional software, as long as they're not encrypted - backups are stored in the folder with the rest of your user data. For example in Windows 7 it should be c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\apple computer\mobile sync\backups. (At the moment iTunes isn't installed on my machine as I just formatted it, so I'm going a little bit from memory - but I'll confirm later tonight.) The trouble with this method is that iTunes gives all the files in a backup cryptic file names. So a utility like iPhone Backup Extractor has the job of showing you the proper directory structure of your iTunes backups and the correct file names for each file, so that it's not a guessing game. Re: OK...iRadio versus TuneInRadio versus Wunderradio versus ooTunesRadio
TuneIn seems to have the simplest interface when listening to a station, along with having categories that you can browse in to find stations. I also like ooTunes, since it will often get stations that don't show up in TuneIn. However, the ooTunes interface could be better and it doesn't seem to have the extensive list of categories that TuneIN does. I like having 2 radio apps on my phone though, since often if one doesn't get a particular station, the other will. It also helps when football season comes aroun and I'm looking for that station that has the game. TuneIN will also give you currently playing song info on the list of stations in your presets or listed other places in the app. Whereas ooTunes will not, but you can get currently playing information when listening to a station in ooTunes. Re: iRadio
I downloaded IRadio and cranked it up on a station and the first thing I found was, wait..., this doesn't sound right! Then I figured it out that it was skipping. Even on wifi and definitely a fast enough connection, it would skip every couple seconds skipping over parts of what it should have streamed continuously. I tried it on two stations. Then I cranked up Tune-In over the same network connection on the same station I just had IRadio on and on Tune-In it was fine. I also went into the settings and turned off inteligent skip and had taken IRadio out of the app switcher and that did not fix it either. The IRadio interface looks almost just like Tune-In. I like that interface so coppying a good thing is still a good thing, but it wasn't a good thing to listen to IRadio. It's an awesome app, and fully acxcessible. Would there be advantages to having more than one radio app? After all, they each give one access to 45,000 radio stations. Wouldn't it be kind of like TV watchers having both dish network and direct TV? Just wondering. Re: iRadio
Hi, I have more than one radio app, because some of them pick up station the stations that others do not and somehow features that others did not. It's really up to you. After reading Peter Cantisanni's book about "must-have" apps, I paid a buck 99 for tune-in radio pro. It's an awesome app, and fully acxcessible. Hai: I did download this app It's excellent. I get all FM stations in India as it detects through GPS all the stations close by and also gives me a choice of stations from the web. Need a small information from the listers, anyone tried any accessible radio app that broadcasts Olympics live? Pl keep the list posted about it. regards, Subbu On 17/07/2012, Jay Phinnemore wrote: > Hi all, first of all, this app is free today.
