Hi Shai, While I'm not familiar with the various periodic table apps in iOS, I did just download Elementium and while it has a premium version and various updates that cost, it seems to have a free version that will do what you want. Its bottomline toolbar contains 4 buttons from left to right: Table, List, Solubility, and Settings. If you select List, an alphabetized list of the elements is presented and a search box is present at the top of the screen where you can search for the desired element. The table button presents the elements in numerical order with their alphabetic abbreviation and Voiceover speaks these items as you swipe through the elements. Also, if you drill down into the element by double tapping on it, a screen opens containing more detailed information about that element and Voiceover speaks that information too. Hello all, Is there a no-cost periodic table app for the iPhone accessible with VoiceOver that a person can type in the element name and get the information about it? The correct name is Quick Elements, though when it is installed it will just say Quick Elem. Someone posted on this list about an app, I am not sure what name it was. I think it was Quick Elements, or maybe Periodic Table. Thanks! That's great. I saw a few different ones but it was so difficult to tell. Sometimes I do wish that like on Appleviz, developers would be expected to write about accessibility/voice-over. It would make trawling the App Store so much easier. I know this has been mentioned before and of course is off topic, so I do not intend this to start a conversation, just thought I'd observe. The free app called Quick Elements may have what you're looking for. It offers information on all 118 elements in the periodic table. Most information is accessible, according to the following AppleVis.com review. AS the reviewer says, there are other apps for the elements but this one offers a lot of information. Periodic table app accessibility query
Hi all, I have a blind student who needs to use voice over on the iPad three. His science teacher has recommended a periodic table app. Unfortunately, I know no more information than this, i.e. Name or company ETC. Does anybody have any experience of whether there is an app for the periodic table which is voice over compatible? I don't want to bother getting it if it's not going to be any good… And the teacher concerned would never have used it with voice-over so might think everything works. Any thoughts would be welcome.
