Yes, I have noticed that intermittently. My solution has been to search for the 
podcast I want and open it that way. But for the most part, it works much of 
the time without a need for this workaround. Keith

This problem started for me as soon as iOS 10 came out. I've gone back to using 
the built-in podcast player because of crashes in downcast related to iOS 10.

I have not encountered that issue and I use Downcast regularly. When
you choose a podcast, do you mean that you are picking the podcast
name to listen to that has the list of episodes, or are you picking a
particular episode to listen to and a different episode plays? Please
explain.
