Re: Keychain questions

2024-01-19 Thread Larry Smith
Hi Mary. You may have already received an answer to your key chain question.
Once you are in passwords and have opened the app you are trying to review, you
then need to double Tapp the edit button. You will then be able to view the
password.

Go into Edit (as if you were going to edit the password), and you should see
the info. That's how I've done it in the past, when wanting to read passwords.
Good luck!

RE: Keychain questions

2024-01-16 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Just go to Settings > Passwords, tap on the login information you want, e.g.
xfinity, then tap on "Edit" at the top right and at that point you can read the
password. Login/user Id and password are now edit fields so double tapping on
them will let you enter edit mode to also make changes.

Xfinity made me change the password because of their stupid security breach I
guess. I absolutely had to do it or I was not allowed to login into their
website. Once there, I had to change the password and I was using my iPhone. I
let Apple set up a password through keychain. It’s a strong password with 15
random letters. First question: is it actually possible to see the password in
keychain? I follow the directions going to settings and then passwords etc. but
once you get to the one you want, you can’t actually “view the password “which
is what Apple says you can do. All I see are 15 bullets. This means that when I
want to use my PC, I can’t. I thought there would be a way once you’re logged
in and behind all those security things that Apple puts up, you could actually
read the random password letters just in case you have a non-apple product that
you need to login with. It kind of render keychain worthless. Plus now I can’t
send my email on my PC. To say I’m mad is to understate the situation by a lot.

If it is really not possible to physically see the letters that you need to see
in order to use that password on a non-apple product, then what’s the solution?
There is an option to “forget password“ so I could do that. But then I have no
way of getting into the account. Mary

Alan,

What is that keychain you are talking about?

Stealing iPhones is not new. There were similar incidents here
in Massachusetts. Some police did locate the thieves and were
able to retrieve the stolen iPhones then return them to the
owners.

Again, it is NOT new.

Not only blind but also ANY one!

McDonald's stating their burgers are the best tasting is not unbiased
objective information. Those intending to use this apple keychain feature
might want to run a Google search or two in order to find objective security
experts who have evaluated this feature.

Those interested in this keychain feature might want to give the following

It is basically a way to let you synchronize your passwords, usernames, credit
cards, and other information across devices. For example, if I save the
password on my Mac, my iPhone could then automatically enter that password if I
visit that website. Same for other information that keychain can store.

Re: keychain?

It's an option in iCloud to store passwords, credit card information,
and other settings and share them across all of your Apple devices. You
can read more about Keychain in icloud at it's FAQ at
