RE: Pause Recording In DropVox?

2016-04-04 Thread Alan Lemly
Well, Sieghard, since I use iTunes 11.4 a whole lot more than DropVox and since
I have a DropVox workaround, I'll stick with iOS 8.3 a bit longer since I'm not
quite prepared for the forced upgrade to iTunes 12.x required by iOS 9.x.

I'll more than likely be getting a iPhone 7 next February provided it still has
a headphone jack so I might just piggyback up to iOS 10. I'm really not a
software Luddite but I loathe an upgrade that doesn't let me continue doing
what I've mastered with my existing group of apps unless that upgrade provides
a benefit that outweighs any cost from lost features or time spent re-learning
things.

There you go, Alan, another good reason to upgrade. I just tried the triple tap
in Dropvox and it seems to work reliably as well. The button will say “Record”
and then if you wait a moment (hints may have to be enabled for this) it will
say “Paused at 7 seconds” (I just used that as an example, it will say whatever
recording length your recording is when you pause it.

Ari,

I just tested it again and the single finger triple tap ended rather than
pausing my recording while a split finger double tap did pause it. I'll
attribute my experience to running Ios 8.3.

Double-tapping after pausing will resume the recording. Another double-tap
after resuming will stop and upload the recording. After resuming from a paused
state, you can do another tripple-tap to pause again.

So, Sieghard.

Once you pause with triple-tap, a subsequent double-tap would resume the

2016-04-01 Thread englishrider91
Huh, Alan. That's rather odd. I've had absolutely no issues using this method
since it was introduced a while back, and that was even true when running iOS 9
on my 4S.

Ari explained below the documented way to pause a recording in DropVox while
using VoiceOver but that method seldom works for me. I've found that putting
one finger on the play button and then double tapping with another finger. Watt
I call a split finger double tap, usually works fine to pause. Another single
finger double tap will restart the recording.

Re: Pause Recording In DropVox?

2016-04-01 Thread englishrider91
Yes, you can pause recording in DropVox. Do a mingle-finger tripple-tap on the
pause button (which should already be in focus, since it's the only item on the
recording screen). To resume recording, double-tap, and recording will start
again. When you want to stop recording, double-tap again. If, after resuming
recording from a paused state, you want to pause again, do another tripple-tap.
Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Ari

recording with dropvox

2012-10-02 Thread Andrew Head
Hi all,
For those who don't know, I am using an iphone 4 and using an app called
dropvox wich is a recording app that you use to record with, then it uploads
your files to dropbox. I took it away on a camp and turned the phone to
aeroplane mode to save battery so I'd have more time for recording. I was
recording for almost the entire day, about 15 hours for 3 days and I checked
dropbox and not all the files seemed to have uploaded yet, even though it
was recording and all working properly. Just wondering is there a time limit
where recordings may not work anymore or cut out?

I don't know, honestly. but the developer is very open to support
questions, i've suggested some accessability features to him as well. I
would guess that as long as you have battery you are fine. I'm sorry,
that's not very helpful. perhaps record in smaller increments?

Recording in Dropvox was Re: Check out Quick Record

2012-06-02 Thread chris hallsworth

Sorry forgot to change the subject so am re-sending.
Hello all well what I do is mute VoiceOver before recording in Dropvox.
That way any notifications will not be picked up in the recording. Once
I stopped the recording I unmute VoiceOver.

Hi all. This is an app which is free right now. I found it from the
News
Store app. In any case, what's really interesting is that when you
record, the recording is done as a .mov file. This means that the
recording is saved in the camera roll. Furthermore, this means that if
you want to do audio-only recordings for uploading to Youtube, you can
do it with this app since it's technically a video, but with audio
only.
I don't know what it shows on the screen, maybe a blank page, or a
logo
of some kind, but it's not a bad concept I think. I did a short
recording and confirmed that it went to the camera roll, and I was
even
able to email it to myself. The app has no settings to mess with, and
the recordings are clear. Only one button to start and one to stop.
That's about as simple as it gets. The information is below.

The app is called Quick Record and it's by Lin Fei.

The link is:
