The iPod Touch 5th gen is almost a phone, without the phone chip, so it won't do calls, not those calls at least, but it will do the rest the phone will do. I have to agree that I got rid of an iPod touch 4, as I found the sound too poor to work with. Ok, hearing is not my strong suit, so the device had to be. so the Mini does it so far.
