Hi all. I have turned off all haptics but still want to have vibrations on. I can't seem to find the setting to turn them on. Thanks for your help and patience. God bless! I'm still on V 12.4.1, but regarding the latest 13.1.2 update, Brian Hartgen tweeted out the following. After trying everything, I had the idea of saying to voice control, reboot device. Then swiping right twice, followed by a double tap. While I couldn’t hear anything, it did restart. Yeah Sieghard Apple did not resolve any of our bugs in ios13.1.2 and I have written this to accessibility which I will do after each update. I started Beta testing iOS 13 almost since the start of the public beta program and already experienced the issue I mentioned in the subject line throughout the beta cycle. I as well as other Voiceover beta testers I know have reported this via the Feedback app during the beta cycle. I am sure given how many other Voiceover users experience this, it has also been reported to Apple Accessibility since the official release. I will also CC this to the Viphone list where visually impaired users discuss iOS and iOS devices so they can forward this back to Apple accessibility, I tried to outline the issue in as much detail as possible so there is no point for others to have to re-write all this, but of course everybody can feel free to add any comments to what I wrote. The issue: you make a phone call and after you hang up all sounds go away as do vibrations. Different users seem to be effected differently, some experience this more than others, but it happens on phone calls, Facetime calls as well as calls with other apps such as Skype. It used to be that for me it mostly happened if I was using the wired Apple Earpods and then asked SIRI to call somebody and then used te in-line remote button on the Earpods cable to hang up the call. Now in iOS 13.1.1 it seems worse for me, yesterday I made two calls directly from the phone without any headset and hung up with a 2-finger double tap and both times my phone went silent and it is then extremely difficult for a blind person to get Voiceo

With my iPhone 7, once I end a call, I get the clicks but no VoiceOver. In my case, though, at least so far, I ask Siri to turn off VoiceOver, hear the message that VoiceOver is off, then ask Siri to turn on VoiceOver, and the phone works as normal. For what it's worth, a friend of mine has also experienced this issue with an iphone 7, because of this issue and the fact that nearby explorer currently does not work, I'm holding off on the upgrade for now. I received a phone call this morning. The same thing has happened to me. But the suggestions of phoning my phone or turning it off and on has not helped. The strange thing is that I can bring up Siri and get the feedback and then when I'm on the Siri screen VoiceOver works. But the minute I go back to the home screen, nothing. As I said, all sounds are gone as if the volume was completely at 0%. Sometimes this resolves itself if I call the phone and answer the call, then hang up the second call and then turn Voiceover on and off, but there have been times when the only solution was to completely turn off the phone and turn it back on. Of course for a completely blind person this is also not always easy if you get no feedback whatsoever, I have to hold the Power button for a bit hoping I did so long enough so the Power Off button is there and then that a double tap will activate

Consider this scenario: a sighted user makes a phone call or a Facetime call and after they tap the end call button the display goes completely black or blank. Sieghard, I did follow the steps for the custom ringtones. No offense taken since even the more intermediate/advanced user misses a detail here and there. I have changed the tone and vibration again making sure to hit the done buttons throughout. I will report back if it doesn't stick. I did find it interesting that there were two different vibration settings for an individual, verses one. Perhaps one is for the ringtone and the other for the text tone. I really hope the Caller ID bug is fixed soon, since I didn't realize how much I rely upon that with the default ringtone for everyone. It does get annoying hearing the default tone and not knowing immediately who is calling. Sure I could touch part of the screen but still like to have it announced. I can't see how this could be an iPhone 6 hardware problem and it doesn't appear to be an iOS 8 problem since I just tried this on my 5S. I set exactly your combination for my business number, the Waves ringtone with the heartbeat vibration pattern, then I asked one of my staff to call me and it worked exactly as it should. Are you sure you double tap on Done both times when you are setting the ringtone? Once you are in Contacts and double tap Edit, then go to where you set the custom ringtone and set both it and the vibration pattern there is a Done button at the top right. After you double tap that button and you are back on your main contact screen, double check to see if Waves and Heartbeat are listed. Then double tap on the Done button at the top right of the screen again to save the changes you made. Defining vibrations as text files?
Hi all, I'm having trouble getting the custom vibration patterns I want. I either touch a bit too long or not long enough, or I'm trying to find the stop button when I accidentally touch the vibration area again, or... you get the idea. Since vibrations are very likely just text files anyway, does anyone happen to know of a way to manually load such files? I'd love to just write up exactly how a pattern should go and put that on my phone, instead of trying to get a pattern just right with my finger. I am doubtful that such a thing is possible, but I thought I'd ask. You can set it up in the Game Center app to compare scores with your friends. The FaceBook and Twitter button are totally optional and you have full control about what you will post. There is no automatic posting. Right now the version 1.1 is in review. It will bring German localization. I will try to support more languages in the future.
