This is identical to blead except for the Cwd test, which succeeds in
blead.

The next step is digging around in all the relevant RT queues to see
what's already been fixed but not brought into the core yet.

As of blead 2009-04-25.23.16:08, with the patches that I have previously
submitted, I only have the two CPANPLUS tests failing.

Are these previously-submitted patches yet to be applied to blead, and if
so, is that due to waiting on upstream maintainers?

I think there's a mix. If there is more than a screenful of smoke, or
something I know about has been languishing in an RT queue a long time,
I may apply it to blead, but otherwise I wait for upstream. I don't
know offhand which patches John is referring to or what queues they are
in. I hope to find time to research that soon but can't make any promises.

I'm about to try a maint-5.10 build again and see where the PathTools
integration got us.

The basic.t and ext.t have been applied to CPAN but apparently have not
made it into blead yet.

I am not sure about the compat.t issue, I do not show a different
compat.t than blead.

I am not showing any differences in my code to the last time I synced
with blead for Archive::Tar.

I have not been updating my local setup as I am trying to find out what
is causing the access violation in SV.C first. I do not know if I can
find it before the Dayton Hamfest.

Hi Craig, hi all,

the very recent PathTools upgrades were mainly patches merged from blead
to the CPAN version which resulted in version bumps in blead.

Cheers,
Steffen

Right, but the VMS-specific changes weren't merged into maint-5.10 until after
that synch. Doing so made the Cwd failure in maint go away. The others are
still the same.
