Re: Disable Local Screen when logged on remotely?

2009-04-15 Thread Justin DeSantis

I upgraded to the newest version of VNC and I now have screen blanking
capability.
As for the Mac, the Mac is a laptop, I only need the viewer on that end.

Or you can use RDC for the Mac from Microsoft if you are connecting to RDC

That's fine, but what about the
encryption option?
TightVNC does not support encryption.
That is the biggest issue, I need encryption between the
client and server.

Hi Justin,

If you upgrade to E4.4.x then you'll find Blank Screen under the Privacy
section of the Desktop options tab.

Is there a way to blank out the screen when one logs on remotely? I

I am running 4.3.1 Enterprise on Windows XP 32.

Yes, but he'd still not get encryption as that requires both client and
server support.

Anyway, if you've got an Enterprise edition license then you're really
best off contacting their support. If they don't offer this
functionality then the only other option I can see is to use an
alternate encryption method (SSH, Zebedee, etc) along with TightVNC.

Robin

Justin,

OK, yeah, you're right, I missed that. But what about UltraVNC? If that
supports both the blank screen option and the encryption, then could you
install that on the server? While using RealVNC on the client? Or is your
server also OS X?
