Kinda stupid. See: http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/11/02/andrea-rossi-italian-cold-fusion-plant/ Why is it stupid? It sounds like a standard mainstream (and you can not get more mainstream than Fox News) gee-whiz science story that the man in the street can get excited about. Indeed, it is the first mainstream story I have seen; the rest of the reporting has been on obscure blogs that only geeks read. Cold fusion fans should love it.

Energy requires an initial, consumable power source that erodes and breaks down -- it simply isn't self-sustaining. Eh? In general, I think that the possible media breakout form ignore to Real or Hoax is good.

It is harmless blather. Cold fusion fans should love it. Not me. I don't mind it though. Any news is good news in show business. - Jed
Re: [Vo]:Fox News report on Rossi
Allan hinted on his blog that an unnamed “customer” of Rossi's device is a military organization that starts with an N. Rossi said this customer measured and verified the test -- and told FoxNews.com that Paul Swanson with the U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems unit (SPAWAR) can vouch for the demonstration. FoxNews.com spoke with a man at SPAWAR who identified himself as Swanson, and who said only that he was not in a position to talk to the press. Several other sources within the Navy and the Pentagoneither declined to comment or did not return messages. Re: [Vo]:Fox News report on Rossi
Of everything in the article, I found this to be the most interesting: Several experts who spoke to FoxNews.com declined to comment or go on the record. Depending on who they talked to, etc. and if that actually is indeed the case - then I see this as a huge shift in the general community - in the past, at least to me, it appeared as though it was always incredibly easy to find an expert to go on the record calling someone a loony or a crackpot. I personally love the way Rossi has approached this entire thing and think he's beginning to make people actually worried that he might have done it - his attitude of I don't care if you believe me - It's real - and I'm moving forward, at first, I think took people back but because of his steadfastness and by staying on message: here take a look - see it works - don't believe me - fine - doesn't matter - because it works. Is starting to make people question themselves for doubting. On 11/02/2011 02:50 PM, Jed Rothwell wrote: vorl bek vorl@antichef.com mailto:vorl@antichef.com wrote: Why is it stupid? I see an uptick in traffic at LENR-CANR.org. Not dramatic, but probably related to the mass media coverage. Hey, there is no such thing as bad publicity. - Jed
