Just found this program to manage generating cross-platform (well, cross-Unix)
packages. It takes its own package spec file and can generate native packages
for a whole bunch of unix platforms, including deb and rpm.

It supports OS X (?) but ideally we want to distribute the entire app as a
single app bundle. Windows, as usual, is its own case. I'm planning on using
Windows Installer XML ("Wix") to generate Microsoft installer (.msi) packages.

I'm still tinkering with the UI prototype (my current project is to add "back"
and "forward" buttons to views enabling browser-style navigation) but I want to
put it to bed soon so we can start working on concrete functionality in the
backend.
