Connection
Can anyone direct me towards a step-by-step idiots guide to connecting (networking?) an iMac (0/S 8.6) to a PC (Windows 2000 or XP) - solely for the purpose of exchanging documents. I know I can do it over the web, but some of the documents are quite big so I need a 'hardwire' connection. Thanks, Don --

Stolen telescopes and digital camera
Last Thursday Binocular Optical and Telescope World in Mt Hawthorn was broken into and two computerised telescopes were stolen, a Nexstar 8 and Nexstar 5, plus a digital video camera. If any persons are offered any of these items cheap, they would love to hear about it. Their contact email is Keith and David [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is the same place that had the binocular camera a few weeks ago. Regards, Paul.
Re: Airport Antennas
Hi All, At the last WAMUG meeting someone asked about airport antennas to increase the range. Well, I found this: In my efforts to add the words wireless savvy to my network admin resume, I've been reading books and web pages on radio propagation, antenna theory and design, and building wireless networks with 802.11. One of the first things that got me excited was the Pringles Can Antenna. Published on the internet and in a fine book by Rob Flickenger, the net admin for O'Reilly, this design for a do-it-yourself, VERY inexpensive antenna made from a recycled junkfood container is as cool as the other side of the pillow. It seems that everyone is building and using these. The various community wireless network groups all talk about them and folks are reporting that they do the job. http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/has.html Various other places retail gear you'll need for setting up antennas, like Steve Murray at Wavelink, Subiaco http://www.wavelink.net.au/ Peter Hopkinson http://www.hopkinsonconsulting.com.au/wireless/ WA CB Centre, Newcastle St. (for antenna cable etc.) Have fun, Shay -- === Shay Telfer Perth, Western Australia Technomancer It must be bunnies!
