Slow printing from Acrobat6
I find that printing to either of my Epson Stylus Photo printers from Acrobat6 is extremely slow, even for text documents. It take ages to spool the documents then forever to go through the printer. No such problems with WordX or Photoshop7. Can anyone advise or comment on this Severin Crisp -- __ Assoc Professor R Severin Crisp, FIP, CPhys, FAIP 15 Thomas St, Mount Clarence, Albany, 6330, Western Australia. Archives?
Since the list changeover I have tried to look at recently archived material but the http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml address keeps taking me back to the old Yahoo site. Are messages still being archived, and if so where are they please? Cheers, Paul.
Re: Test
Hi everyone I have tried over ten times now to post on the WAMUG site but it bounces back every time. I emailed Matthew Healey for advice but alas no response, it did not bounce but no reply. I will email here just to see if this works as a test. Can you tell me what the 'multipart/alternative,' is. It is no different to how I usually send an email? My email works fine otherwise. Any ideas? Failed to deliver to 'wamug@wamug.org.au' LIST module(list wamug) reports: Your message cannot be posted. Re: Nikon LS30 scanner
Hi everyone Thanks for your prompt replies. Here is the email as posted previously. A problem has arisen with our Nikon Coolscan 111 LS30 scanner, I wonder has anyone encountered this? There appears to be scum on the mirror and it crashes frequently with a hardware error message. Maxwell Optical say that the factory grease is vaporising under heat, this leaves scum on the mirror which attracts dust. Maxwell say they sent a notice to all repair facilities about this and to use high temp grease. Perth's only registered Nikon service facility says nonsense, no such thing. We therefore take the scanner in frequently to get cleaned over and over again, with the same symptoms occurring within a short time. They clean the dust and all seems well. Before long of course the grease film is back, which forms a scum on mirror which effects light reading from mirror, which causes hardware error message (usually to do with autofocus problem) and then motor jam. The symptom prior to scan motor jam is that a halo occurs around the highlights and overall lack of contrast as the grease spray covers the mirror etc.. What is the effective life of an LS30? What year did the LS30 arrive on the market? Does anyone have this on-going problem, if so how have you got around it? Any information would be appreciated Thanks Jon Adobe Photoshop Workshops Getting up to speed with the digital darkroom with Jon Davison. Re: Slow printing from Acrobat6
Hi Severin, Are you able to use acrobat 5 and how does it perform ? When Acro 5 first became available I found it would not print to my Stylewriter II printer , and still does not. I have to open Acro 4 to print to that printer. ( Its easy to refill the cartridge for the stylewriter ) ( using OS9.1 )I can print Acro5 to an Epson I have. Conclusions were that the new version needed heaps of memory in the printer.
