IGG Software renames their iWork to iBiz
Hi Wamug folks. IGG's iWork software (for those that have seen or have been using IGG Software's simple time billing app) has undergone a name change... Instead of iWork, looks like they've had to rename to iBiz http://www.macnn.com/news/27459 http://www.iggsoftware.com/ibiz/index.html I was wondering how long it would take Apple/IGG to warrant the change... :-) Cheers, Derek -- Derek Yeoh-Ellerton mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] National IT Manager Printforce Australia Pty Ltd http://www.printforce.com.au/ Phone: 08 9223 2400 Fax: 08 9221 2059 Mobile: 0413 838 518

All you need is Xgrid and you'll be set... the Mac mini looks eminently stackable... only the FSB speed is a little slow at 167MHz vs. the G5 1.25GHz so you'd need to focus on intensive calculation vs. moving a lot of data... It might a lot of sense as a home server too -- run your own web site etc. over broadband and leave your main computer untouched... start selling some space to people for a fee... Mac mini
A happy stevenote day to all! Is it me or is this: but today: Mac Mini * FW, USB, modem, Ethernet, slot-load optical, analog and digital video, headphones * BYODKM: brign your display, keybd, and mouse * size of HD external HD or even paperback * comes w/ Panther, iLife 05, * $499 - 1.25 GHz, 256/40 * $599 [missed specs] * avail. Jan 22 a solution for this: But a couple of weeks ago I get a phone call and my friend has finally had enough. Malware, spyware, adware, viruses and worms had reduced her computer to a $1200 paperweight. Another friend (who, incidentally sold her the machine!) was getting tired of coming around EVERY day to clean out the crap. I say this because the friend mentioned here wants a Mac mini NOW (right now!) :-) Methinks it might be a fun year for macophiles Stewart
MacWorld Day 2 (Part 1)
--- 3am --- Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep I hate alarms. They interrupt perfectly good sleep. Not that I had much of it. I finally dosed off at about 2am then got wrenched from serenity an hour later. Ahh well. You only live once. At least I am not the only one. I am staying at the Courtyard by Marriot and just about every one here is going to MacWorld. It's kind of fun. As fun as getting up at 3am can be. The coffee they serve at the Courtyard tastes like dirty water. In fact, dirty water is probably a step above this. Ahh well, it's got caffeine in it. I hope. I hope Starbucks is open. I am currently wearing 5 layers of clothes and it still looks cold outside. That's winter for you. Mm... gotta love central heating. --- 4am --- It's 4am... It's dark... It's cold... It's wet... I can't feel my feet... Welcome To MacWorld '05 There are about 30 people in line outside the Moscone Centre. One guy has been here since 8:30pm the night before. The security guard told him that as long as he stays awake, it's fine for him to be there. If he falls asleep, he will be booked for vagrancy. The only other thing I would consider getting up this early for is ANZAC Day. Weather conditions aside, everyone's spirits are high. People are guessing what will be released, what won't be and would could be. We have had the obligatory MS complain-a-thon. We praised IBM for releasing 500 of their patents and we commented on the fact that there should be StarBucks van out front. (Even though there was a store across the street.) We even got on to politics. It's always a bad subject, but it always comes up. The guys I was talking to found it unbelievable that our Prime Minister can stay in office for an long as he keeps getting elected. No one here seems to like Mr Shrub. I still can't feel my feet. Oh well. At least it's not raini. A crap. --- 6am --- Yay! The lights to the Moscone Centre just came on. Everything looks pretty. Spirits are rising. Everyone got excited, but quickly realised that there is still 3 hours till show time. And yes... it is still raining. Nothing much to report at the moment. People are still arriving in droves. There about a thousand people waiting in line. I am about 30 from the front. Yay for Me! Ooo look! There are people in the Moscone Centre. They all look very official. There are cops with guns. There are women in power suits. There are lots of guys in blue t-shirts. They look like Smurfs. YOu can definitely tell the difference between the women that are being paid to be here and the women than are here by choice. --- 7am --- THE LINE IS MOVING. I REPEAT... THE LINE IS MOVING. In to the Moscone, past the cops with guns. Past the CIA looking types. Down the elevator. Conference attendees To the left, Priority Combo holders to the right please. It's nice to know that $2000 actually gets you something. Please wait at the bottom of the elevator please Aww more waiting. Well at least I am first in line to the priority seating. More waiting. It's a good thing we are right next to the bathrooms. I had to point out to some of the other people in line that not all Australian's wrestle Crocodiles and say Crikey at the beginning of every other sentence. Though it's easy to entertain them by doing the impersonation. It always gets a laugh when you starting pointing out the natural habitat and mating grounds of a recycling bin. One guy even remembers Albey Mangles. Now that's stretching the memory cells. I must point out that he didn't actually remember much about the show, only that each adventure had a new, very good looking chick on the side. More waiting. Some guy from Apple keeps coming and going whilst being followed by his little entourage of Smurfs. Apparently he is the VP of Public Events at Apple. I guess thats like being President of the school social club. At any rate, I can't even remember his name. He looked important, which I guess is what counts. The Smurfs keep re-assuring us that we will be able to get into the hall and we will get seats. The more they say this, the more I don't believe them. We had a contest to see who had travelled the furtherest to get to MacWorld. Some woman from Chicago was winning until I pointed out that I had literally come from the other side of the planet. I won that competition. --- 8am --- I am now the token Australian in the line. The Smurfs think i'm cool and some other guy keeps asking about the dangerous animals. I shut him up by telling him that mozzie bites are fatal in Australia. Damn some people are just plain stupid. Ahhh... now we find out why the Smurfs have been telling us we will get a seat. The press people get to push in front of us. Bastards! The funny thing is the press guys are all walking round like they are somebody and yet I have absolutely no clue as to who any of them are. Even after reading their name badges.
