You can also use the standard Xbox 360 webcam as well, which I have seen below $50. Plug and play, as long as you are running the latest version of 10.4 or running 10.5 Seeya Rod! Hi Kevin Any Macs we donate will have to go to Schools or charities or government departments or the like. What you will need to do is send a request to colin.carpen...@wanews.com.au for any spare Macs we might have, he is the coordinator of old equipment disposal at the West. How do I recover Sent Mailbox from Time Capsule ?
I deleted a Mailbox from Apple Mail when transferring an email account from POP to IMAP, and inadvertently got rid of the deleted account's Sent box, the content of which I needed to keep. Fortunately all is backed up on Time Capsule, but what exactly do I look for when delving into Time Capsule? Would there be a Mail Sent Items folder which I can simply drag and drop? Or is life not that simple? If I locate a sample Sent message using Spotlight, and highlight the message in finder to see what directory path the message is housed within, I get no information. Cheers, Steven Hi Steven. Apple Mail is Time Machine aware, so the best bet would be to Enter Time Machine (from the menu bar icon) while Apple Mail is the active application - should let you scroll back to a time before the account was deleted. You should then be able to restore the account's Folders in place. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1263171 Hope this assists. Hi John, I use the Microsoft XBox 360 camera. It works very well and is completely plug-and-play, at least it is on my Intel Mini. Cost was around $70, I think. Not absolutely certain, and it comes with a nice headset as well, which if you're a bit handy with some wire cutters you can convert for input with your Mac. Are you aware that only 15 Windows applications are certified to work substantially the same way in CrossOver as they do under Windows? Of the rest, most have not been tested at all, and those that have, have problems of varying degrees. If you can lay your hands on a copy of Windows, you should consider VirtualBox from Sun Microsystems. You can download a copy here: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads It has the advantage over Crossover that it's free (as well as the fact that it runs any Windows software out there, of course). While not adorned with ALL the bells and whistles of its commercial cousins (Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion) it does have many of them, and it's fast, reliable, and easy to use. But you will need to install a copy of Windows (up to and including Vista). A good idea is to spend $16 and download a copy of Take Control of Running Windows on a Mac by Joe Kissell from http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/ . Unfortunately it doesn't give you much help with understanding Crossover, but it helps with understanding the alternatives, including VirtualBox. -- Peter HinchliffeApwin Computer Services FileMaker Pro Solutions Developer Perth, Western Australia Phone (618) 9332 6482Fax (618) 9332 0913 Mac because I prefer it -- Windows because I have to. -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Unsubscribe - mailto:wamug-unsubscr...@wamug.org.au

check volume/user/library/mail go through these folders try this: quit mail, move the file 'envelope index' to the desktop then restart mail, it will rebuilt the mail boxes maybe your missing mail is reappearing otherwise check the 'missing' folders for their content, you may have to reimport all the emlx files cheers James On 23/02/2009, at 7:43, michael.hawkins wrote: A colleague who was running Mail and Leopard successfully on his new iMac, lost all emails stored in Mail when he installed Office 2008. IMovie6 problem
My son has an iMovie6 problem when importing stills. (Intel iMac, latest Tiger) They import correctly, it seems and render, but when played back they are black. The Help file mentions this phenomenon with PICT files and suggests saving as JPEG or TIFF. His files are JPEGs but resaving as TIFFs makes no difference. Anyone got any suggestions. Fwd: iMovie6 problem
Ronni has paid me the great compliment of temporarily emerging from retirement to address my son's problem in her usual thorough way. This may be of interest to others. Hail to Ronni! Severin Crisp Hello Severin, As you are aware I'm no longer subscribed to WAMUG Mailing List, but I do check the Archives now and then. I noticed today your email regarding black stills on importing into iMovie HD 6. I suggest you post my reply below to WAMUG for other members information. I know there was a Bug in iMovie 6 when updating a still with Ken Burns effect. It would work only until you emptied the trash. If you emptied the trash in iMovie and then selected the still to be updated via the Media/Photos/Show Photo Settings tab, the appropriate Ken Burns update window appears but the view screen is black and the still isn't updated. The easiest solution is probably to Quit iMovie and delete the iMovie preferences. Go to username library preferences com.apple.imovie.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iMovie; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
