Re: Mail Problem

2017-10-26 Thread John Thompson
I have encountered the same problem with my Macbook Pro 2012 whilst away on
holidays.

Very interested in the responses that may come in.

Mail Problem

2017-10-26 Thread Diana & Graham Stevens
Good morning all

Graham can't send emails from his POP account (no problem with incoming mail).
At first this fault was intermittent but for the last 2 days every time he
tried he got the same message "Can't connect to server ... enter password" then
"unable to verify ...".

In preferences the SMTP password wasn't filled in with "optional" showing. If I
filled in the password I couldn't save it because only one SMTP server is
allowed.

Because Graham needed to send an important email, I set up one of my email
addresses with his name and he sent it last night.

This morning I sent a test message from his account and it went. When I looked
at the preferences for his account my email address is in the SMTP box and the
password is now filled in. Gremlins?

I tried to change the SMTP to his account but got the same "only one allowed"
How can I fix this please.

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017) 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5 OS 10.12.6
