Tiger on a iMac SE 400

2005-07-15 Thread Bart Raffaele
Hi all

I think I asked this question a while ago. not to sure

Has anyone ran Tiger on a iMac SE 400 the translucent graphite model.
I've got one at the moment with it's ram of 128 13gig hd
Of course I'll be cranking the ram up as well maybe 1 gig. And a external
dual DVD burner ( any suggestion which burner I should get)

Any reports on how this model runs on tiger.

Thanks

Bart

Help! me convert my friends into buyin Apple

2005-03-10 Thread Bart Raffaele
Hi all

At the moment I'm trying to convert some of my friend into buying a iMac G5
in a couple weeks.. Instead of a Windows PCDell model

The specs for the G5 iMac is
1gig of ram
160 HD
Super Drive.
And the Total price from the Apple Store came to $2,927 and I did do a Dell
comparison and of course the Dell was cheaper by $800 or so.

Is there anyone on the List who works at a Apple reseller store do a better
deal than Apple Store online.
My friends do like the iMac G5 but price may even turn them to the dark
side..

I pretty much explain why Mac's are better PC's..so I have got them on
that..

I would hate to keep going to there place to fix teeving problems with a
Windows PC, and say I told you so.

Thanks

iMac prblems/Jaguar 10.2.8

2004-09-06 Thread Bart Raffaele
Hi All

I 've installed Jaguar 10.2.8 on a iMac rev A 233 hd4 gig ram 160.
The problem is that some times the screen goes blank and have to hit reboot

Could it be to insuffient ram to support the screen and OS. I was running OS
9.2.2 with no problems so i don't think it's the mother board
Even OS X 10.1.5 ran with out a hitch.
Any suggestion besides getting a new mac.

Hi all I'm using Entourage on my iMac 233 running 10.1.5

It seem that in the last 3 months the program keeps on quitting,

When I check some of the inboxes like deleted items theres nothing there
,but I click on the area and some of them appear, then it unexpectly
quits

and some times comes up with a error code , I can't remember what it is.

I have been using Entourage for a while so my Mac can handle it, or
maybe it

needs more RAM. At the moment I have 160meg.

Any suggestion ?

Besides buying a new Mac

Nokia 3650 universal remote 4 Macs

2003-08-21 Thread Bart Raffaele

Hey all

If you have a Nokia 3650 mobile phone and a Bluetooth-enabled Mac
running Mac OS X (10.2 or higher), you can use the phone as a
universal remote control, thanks to the US$8 Veta Universal 1.0 tool.

Veta Universal is installed on the Nokia 3650 phone itself; it works
in conjunction with the freeware Romeo application that is installed
on your Mac. The combination allows you to remotely operate such Mac
applications as iTunes, the QuickTime Player, DVD Player, and Keynote.

With Romeo, available as a free download from Arboreal Software, not
only can you control applications, but you can also use your mobile
phone as a mouse or as a volume control. Romeo is an open source
application. The latest version is 0.9.1, which offers multiple
monitor support for the mouse, scrollwheel emulation, and more.

so go to http://veta.irowan.com

so have fun with it.

Ti G4 800 mhz powerbook on ebay

2002-08-04 Thread BART RAFFAELE
Hi all

Was checking out what's on ebay Australia for some powerbooks and came
across some Ti G4 Powerbooks the top of the range in powerbooks which go for
$8,745 and start price was $1600 with no reserve price,
I thought too good to be true, so I check out the next day and found it to
be off the Auction list, but there are others still on the list,
There auction history is nil and have a location n/a in Australia.

Here is one of the auctions

To me it sounds and looks a bit sus.

Macworld Tokyo Live

2002-03-29 Thread BART RAFFAELE

Hi all
come across one of my sites i listen to Shawn King's from
http://www.yourmaclife.com/tokyo/tokyo.htmlShawn's Macworld Tokyo
webcast, Macworld-Streaming.net team created the

QuickTime file out of our DV camcoder tape.

Unfortunately though, the quality of camcoder's mic pickup is not so
clear

as Shawn's sound of hand-mic, since huge noise were all around from other
booths. And sometimes it might be a little hard to hear what Shawn, the
guests and I said.

But anyway, you can try not only listening but also watching what was
going

on.

For narrowband users, this is audio only stream (40k)

For broadband users, this is audio with video stream (160k-300k)
