For simple voice recording to mp3 or AIFF, I just use freeware
AudioRecorder.

Hi Paul

I use a great free program from Ambrosia Software called Wire Tap. It
records anything going through your HD. I record CDs tapes radio. Its
very easy to use.

Can anyone tell me of a freeware/shareware
app for recording large audio, 60min or so, via
Microphone.

I have Pro Tools Free but it has probs under
Classic and Id rather stick to OSX for this one
small task.

I have had a good look around but Id like to hear
some other opinions or maybe something Ive
missed.

Thanks
Paul

Highly recommend Spark XL from TC Electronics. It's a 2 track audio editor.
Supports VST and Audio Units plug-ins if you are into mastering or adding
effects and there are some pretty groovy little Audio Units plugs popping up
around the place. I have been using it to digitise some old cassettes I had
lying around so I was recording 40 minutes or so of audio at time with no
problem.
Best of all it's free!
Check it out

Also there is pretty happening web-site for anything you want to know about
OSX audio called, strangely enough: http://www.osxaudio.com/
Hope that's helpful
