Choosing DVDs for archiving of photos

2010-04-06 Thread Marlene Oostryck

Hi All

I have an extensive collection of digital photos currently backed up
on 2 computers and an external hard drive.
I also have them on everyday Verbatim discs but I believe the images
on these only last for 5-8 years.

I would like to burn them onto archival quality DVDs.

Info I have found so far on archival quality discs recommend:

Pro Disc Gold
Taiyo Yuden
MAM-A Gold
Verbatim UltraLife Gold
Any others?

Info from articles also suggest that +R gives higher quality than -R.

Before I place an order any feedback would be appreciated.

Regards

Marlene Oostryck

not on;y a good brand of cd-r or dvd-r (in my case tdk) also a low
burn speed improves the longlifety of recordables

Regardless of what you choose, I'd still suggest checking these discs every few
years, and perhaps burning new copies as you do.

Gav
