Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties
disappear and obstacles vanish.

Hi 'Muggers,
For those of you who use a Microsoft Office alternative there are two pieces
of news. Firstly LibreOffice version 3.5 was released a couple of weeks back.
You can get the Mac version from here:
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/
And secondly, today Intel announced that it was joining the LibreOffice
foundation.
To clear up where LibreOffice fits into the grand scheme and how I use it.
LibreOffice is the successor of OpenOffice. OpenOffice is suffering
stagnation after internal disputes and the major developers have moved to
LibreOffice. I use iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) as my principal office
software but occasionally have cause to read or write Microsoft Office
compatible files, for which I use LibreOffice. If I were a frequent user of
MS Office file I would likely but original MS Office.
Cheers,
Carlo
