Hi Peter, Check out this web link for VLC 2 to work with Handbrake http://www.mylifeinaminute.com/2012/02/22/vlc-2-0-and-handbrake/ Cheers, Peder On 02/04/2012, at 7:56 AM, Peter Hinchliffe wrote: On 30/03/2012, at 4:09 PM, Pedro wrote: Hi Adrian Awhile back my young fella grabbed a copy of VLC from the app store and uses that to transfer TV shows and movies to his iPad 1. It costs less than a cup of coffee and the best thing is it lets you play those sometimes annoying attachments your friends send to you in an email from the dark side So far it is working fine cheers Pedro THe latest version of VLC is always available for free from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/. It's now at version 2.0.1 (a major upgrade), the main downside being that Handbrake does not yet recognise it at a compatible version (unless something has changed in the last week or so). Re: Movies on the iPad 3
Hi Pedro! I have VLC (it must be still available as I got an update the other day) but am using HandBrake at the moment. I also have WinX HD Video Converter for Mac which works well also, it has an option to have it automatically add it to the iTunes library but at this stage I don't want all of them in iTunes just yet to avoid filling the iMac HD up with movies that I may only watch at 2 or 3 year intervals. My old Video recorder is only analog so can only record 4 stations so I am thinking of getting a MacMini to attach to the Plasma screen and use it for recording and storing movies on a permanent basis. The MacMini is not a lot more expensive than a DVD recorder with a HD.
