Yes Stuart,

That is correct.

2. Drag the file into Text Edit's dock icon, search for and delete
the words and then save it.

i.e.: Find the incorrect words you have added to Dictionary, highlight
them (click drag your cursor over them), then press the delete key.

Go to File Save (to save your corrections)
Then Quit Text Edit.

The incorrect words will be deleted from Dictionary.

Cheers,
Ronni

Hi Stuart

Just a reminder that we'd appreciate not sending attachments to the list
please, as per Matt's email dated 24/08/2009 12:18PM.

 Please DO NOT send
attachments to the list. Be it photos or files or anything like that.
Just because you can at the moment, doesn't mean you should.

The best way to do it, is to send the link to the file. That way,
people that want it, can download it.

Thanks.

Hello Stuart,

1. There is a file in home/Library/Spelling LocalDictionary that
holds all the learnt words for your language.

2. Drag the file into Text Edit's dock icon, search for and delete
the words and then save it.

Hi Guys

There won't be a file in that location until you create a new word!1
I just did a check and there is no file or folder. So I created a new
word and told it to learn my new word and then the folder and file was
created.

hope that helps a little.

There has to be in Home/Library/Spelling and in the Spelling
directory will be a file (possibly just one), one for each language
you use.

If you speak English, the name of the file will be en?

Drag the en file to Text Edit's dock icon, search for and delete
the incorrect words and then save it.

Hi Ronni, there are two Home/Library/Spelling files on my laptop. The
'local dictionary' is in my user directory library under spelling, not
in the main HD library spelling directory. Could that be why Stuart
couldn't find it.

Anyway, its on my machine and should be on Stuart's.

cheers, Susan.

Hi Susan,

I never said it was located in the Main HD, I told Stuart previously
Steven:

1. There is a file in home/Library/Spelling LocalDictionary that
holds all the learnt words for your language.

2. Drag the file into Text Edit's dock icon, search for and delete the
words and then save it.

Steven located the file and deleted the error words that he had added
to Dictionary.

Hi Roger,

Yes, you need to have added words to Dictionary.
Stuart had added some incorrectly spelt words into the Dictionary. The
file should be where I previously said.

In Home Library Spelling ... LocalDictionary

Stuart's message:
I have added some incorrectly spelt words into the Mail dictionary

Re: Edit dictionary

2009-10-09 Thread Peder Kristensen

Hi All,

There is an app Dictionary Cleaner - 1.5” that you can get from
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10873219
or the authors website - http://twoamsoftware.com/

I have used it a number of times. Also, you can edit different
dictionaries that you may have added. In SP it now used “Automatic by
Language” , but you select any of the dictionaries that have installed
on your system.

In SP you can now add/edit Substitution, see MacWorld’s article -
http://macworld.com.au/help/view/how-to-use-text-substitution-in-snow-leopard-3525

Cheers,
Peder
