+1, this is exactly why we ended up getting involved in the webdriver project. It's a chore to compile the extension for all available platforms. In checking the alternatives, some of which Ethan mentioned, webdriver seemed the most reasonable approach. There are a number of other plugins which do basically the same thing a jssh, which I found researching alternatives.
