2016-09-05 Thread Gaurav Shukla
Count me in, I looked up SwellRT and I really look forward to contributing
if SwellRT is brought into Wave. And I too am not very good at discussions
plus I haven't dived deep enough into the code base to give suggestions, so
i'll probably be a silent listener.

Re: Retirement

2016-09-05 Thread Gaurav Shukla
Hello Everyone,

I am quite late to the discussion but I like the direction this project
might take. I tried contributing a few months back but the code base was
simply too complex.

I'll try to be available for hangout and I think this and well as any other
conference call we have should be recorded. The discussion would likely
help on boarding of new developers.

Re: Wavy Future - Project Brief

I second Upayavira on this, the project brief looks fine but it should be
broken down into meaningful sub tasks with a proper timeline.

Re: Interested in Contributing to Wave

2016-04-04 Thread Gaurav Shukla
I haven't worked with OT but I've worked on some real-time stuff, mostly
sockets and WebSockets.
For this particular project, I think I can help with Rest API and
Client-Server communication.

Apart from that, I have worked on python and nodejs on the server side and
Angular Js on Web clients. So if someone needs help on that front then I
can help.

Re: Interested in Contributing to Wave

2016-04-04 Thread Gaurav Shukla
Thanks for you time Evan, It was nice getting to know about Wave. Now that
I have understood what google wave was and what apache wave is, I've some
feedback.

I like the idea of rewrite and decoupling of client and server while
keeping the protocol as it is, but I would suggest to cut down on features
and implement them as the product gains traction.

It took me about an hour to figure out what wave was, it was too
complicated and offered too many features. And rewriting every one of them
if there's no adoption would be futile.

That's all I had to say. One of my friends might also be interested in this
project, I'll discuss it with him and see if I can get him to devote some
time to this project.

I would like to see wave in action during code reviews :)
