[Wayland-bugs] [Bug 100571] erratic touchpad behavior, seems too sensitive to stray palm touches
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100571 --- Comment #21 from bugzi...@colorremedies.com --- Additionally I've noticed the trackpad input is honored an impractically short time after a key is pressed. So if I'm typing, and just pause the slightest amount within a word, suddenly the trackpad is active and highlights a bunch of text. What's more realistic is what's the fastest practical time from key release to getting an index finger on the track pad. That time is maybe 0.7s. But for sure I see unprompted selection happening in between key strokes. So the "inactive trackpad while typing" rule is way too deferential to the trackpad. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ wayland-bugs mailing list wayland-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/wayland-bugs

When you hover your mouse above the nodes on it it shows the temperature. Start at the beginning and continue through the graph while going slow enough to read the temperatures. You will probably notice that during this time the trackpoint is hard to control. At the end the trackpoint should have a slight to strong pull back in the direction of the line. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101094 --- Comment #9 from Benjamin Tissoires --- Thanks for the log. However, it doesn't contain the debug information :) No big deal, it's actually easier/better to just provide a hid-recording of the touchpad. Grab hid-replay from http://bentiss.github.io/hid-replay-docs/ and follow the instructions for compiling from the sources if you are not running Fedora.
