Someone please explain to me why there was no mention of Don's passing during
the awards show?

Barney/Thelma Lou

2006-03-22 Thread Janet Anderson
Actually the episode revealing Thelma Lou's marriage to the other guy also
reveals she was devastated when Barney moved out of town. Perhaps Barney
expected her to wait around for him to send for her and naturally she
didn't.

That's ironic, considering Barney's reaction to one of the times that Andy was
thinking of leaving Mayberry for another job offer. Barney asked something
like, And what about Helen? When Andy said that maybe he would send for her
later, Barney seemed to think that Andy's answer was pretty lame!

Re:North Country!!

2006-03-22 Thread Catnarnia
Hello and Greetings to Ken, Joe and the rest of my online Mayberry friends.
I am writing to say that here in Southwest Michigan Mayberry is enjoyed by
many. I grew up watching Andy, Barn and everyone. My kids watched it all
the time growing up and now the grandchildren are too. My 8 year old grandson
wants to be Earnest T. next Halloween!! About this NORTH talk, my son lives
in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan near Escanaba and I can tell you the
Mayberry is alive and well in the Northern Michigan Woods. My grandson is not
quite 2 yet, but he is laughing at Barney. In fact his dogs name is Rafe
My sympathies to the Krentz family---I will miss his contributions he made
to this sight. Makes you think how short life can be and how we need to make
the most of each day!
Have a Mayberry Day!!
Miss Ellie-(in my heart)!!!

Mayberry up North

2006-03-22 Thread G Stefanow
I am going to put my two cents worth in here and say that TAGS is well
represented by my fellow Buckeyes from Ohio. For me, I got hooked on the show
when my parents got cable television in the early 80's when I was still in my
Cleveland area hometown. WTBS would show TAGS each night and it became a family
staple for us to watch and even entertain family and friends with. In the
Dayton area, we have been fortunate enough to have the Mayberry Squad Car runs
in years past. Those were a pretty big hit here and very well attended. Heck,
we even have a guy named Paul who seems like a an expert in all things TAGS to
me. So, TAGS is STILL popular in this part of the North!

Don Knotts Chicken Little

2006-03-22 Thread MERRILL JOHNSON JR
If you get a chance to watch the extra on the new DVD Chicken Little you get to
actually see a small snippet of Don doing his Turkey Lurkey character. Also
there was an alternate opening with Don reading a big part of the story. It is
kind of sad listening to it knowing he is no longer with us. But if you get a
chance to buy/rent it check out the extras!

Re: Mapping New Members

2006-03-22 Thread K . Darden
I wanted to welcome our newest members and invite you to post your
locations on our Andy Griffith Show Fans map at
http://www.frappr.com/theandygriffithshowfans. 225 of our members have
put themselves on the map so far, and it has been very interesting to
watch the map fill up. The slide show and shout out sections are a fun
way to meet fellow TAGS fans. Because there is so much info on our
map now, it does take it a little while to fully load, and you have to
wait for the link to show up under the map that lets you ask for all
225 pins to load. Right now that link is kind of small and loads up
directly under the map. Frappr keeps improving, adding and rearranging
features, so every time I get a chance to check back, the map looks
totally different!
