Ohio Sheriffs convention mayberry night
The OHIO Buckeye State Sheriffs' Association's (BSSA) annual conference will be held november 4-7, 2007. On Monday, Nov. 5, the conference will host a Mayberry Night with entertainment by the DILLARD'S and David Browning. We are attempting to organize a MAYBERRY cruiser display inside the conference center and would like to invite interested TAGS clubs and individuals to join in the activities. We are in the formulative stages and need immediate imput to determine interest. We would like to have a display of memorabilia. We plan on showing continuous viewings of the show throughout the Mayberry night. We also have a tentative arrangement to have Russell Hyatt, Mt. Airy's City Barber Shop, in attendance. Any one having visited Mt. Airy usually makes the City Barber Shop a part of their experience. We even have a barber's chair available! Since I have no experience with a Mayberry event I need to know who would be interested in attending the Monday event. If the convention center charges for the extra participants or displays (non-conference attendees), would a reasonable charge be acceptable? The banquet dinner monday evening is scheduled between events (afternoon visits with Dillards and David Browning and a two hour show following dinner). Those not participating in the banquet would have access to area diners at a far more reasonable cost. At this time there is no expense associated with the shows. A look a like contest is being considered. I would like an immediate response of interested persons or clubs, so we can start formal planning Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, president BSSA ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Another Barney--and an agreement
I noticed another Barney term refinishing school instead of finishing school, when he was talking about rich girl Peggy. I have been a long time subscriber and reader of this board, but this is my first postso here goes. Has anyone else found it an odd coincidence that Gavin McCloud was involved in the black and white episode of the first mention of Sheriff Without a Gun when he posed as a movie producer that came to Mayberry with two others with the intent to make a movie about our beloved sheriff. They turned out to be bank robbers. He was also in the color episode later on (with comical toupee) starring as Sheriff Taylor when the movie was actually filmed in Hollywood. Makes ya think! Monty Lockaby, Piedmont, SC, Trying not to chew my cabbage twice! Monty , yes that was ironic I think another funny twist is Barney's Music teacher...Ms. Poultice, later being his dance partner--Big Maude Tyler. Or the lady who was running the charity drive--later turns out to be the Shoplifter. (do you want more ? I'll do it !!!) Or Barney's girl Miss Rosemary--later buying a house from Barney the Realtor with her husband. Or the kid who lost his baseball (Haunted House) also being the spoiled kid that lost his Bike OK I'll stop there for now. The Untrained Voice--knowing when there's enough of a good thing. P.S. The guy who wrote this original post about a Hollywood episode where Andy stayed at the Piedmont Hotel--being from Piedmont SC!! ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

HAL SMITH sighting
on today's episode of The Lucy Show I saw Hal Smith. Mr. Mooney wanted to build a freeway down the middle of Main Street Bancroft, CA. He Lucy went down to check it out and were surprised to find the head of the planning committee (Hal Smith, Otis Campbell) marching in the parade that was protesting the freeway. He's the only one to play the tuba and you can't have a marching band without a tuba. Nice to see Hal in a non drunk part for a change Marie ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
