no digest
I haven't been getting my daily digest either for weeks and also got the bounce message. I wonder what causes that? I thought I had changed some setting on my e-mail. I got a phone call yesterday from Andy and his wife asking me to vote for Beverly Perdue,,even though we differ politically and I have never voted for who he endorses I enjoyed hearing him on my answering machine. barney lights up
Actually, there is one episode where Barney is seen smoking. It is the episode Citizens Arrest. Andy smokes on-screen in about a dozen episodes. In Gomer the House Guest he even smokes in bed! Seems like he would have known better. All of this was in the days before the surgeon general's warnings -- once the dangers of tobacco use became better understood, Andy stopped smoking on The Show, and in real life too. Years later, he publicly stated that he regretted smoking on camera in the early days. Barney does smoke occasionally -- see Mayberry on Record (cigar), Citizen's Arrest (cigarette - what's the matter, is the smokin' lamp out or something?), If I Had a Quarter-Million (cigars again - 35 cents a copy) and A Black Day for Mayberry (a pipe - though it didn't appear to be lit). Paul Mulik I remember twice - once when Goober was a houseguest ( amazing that?Aunt Bee allowed him to keep an ashtray under his bed! )?and once right after Andy delivered Sam Becker's baby - funny he also commented on how good the air smelled after the rain. Barn never lit up - even if he was tempted, he'd never spend the money! Digest Problems
Hey Folks, I'm sorry I've been so silent on this issue. The reason I haven't spoken up is because I've been working to figure out HOW to fix the problem. I didn't have an answer to tell you and I've been busy enough with other things that I had to choose between sending y'all an e-mail that said I don't know anything or working to *try* and understand the problem. This has been a HARD one and I *still* do not have this one licked. We have gone from having 1500+ folks subscribed to only about 875 or so because they are being unsubscribed automatically because their e-mails are bouncing back to the mailing list software (mailman is its name). If/when I get this problem fixed, I will be able to resubscribe pretty much everybody and get things right in the world again. I truly am sorry that I haven't been actively keeping y'all informed but the real issue is that those that aren't getting this e-mail are the ones that need to see it. They are the ones that are really having a problem. Hopefully they realize they can read the Archives and see what's happening. Y'all hang in there and know that I am hard at work with this. Fish Bait
My entry is about the fish bait ,or rather,the lack of it.When the show comes on,you see Andy and Opie carrying the fishing rods.I do not see them carrying a can of worms,cricket cage,or minnow bucket.I also do not see any artificial lures tied to their lines. My question is,did the directors forget this part of the equasion? Just an observation.Perhaps this has been discussed before my signing on to get the digest. I too was concerned about not hearing from Allan and I emailed Paul just to see if he knew anything. He said Allan is fine. Maybe he is having emails issues as well and that is the reason we have not heard from him. This is the 2nd day now that I have gotten the digest again so I am pretty happy.
