Jackie Joseph
Maybe Tom Kessel can help us on this one. I wondered if someone had some information on Jackie Joseph to share with all of us. It's funny -- she was only in one episode (as Ramona Ankrum in My Fair Ernest T. Bass), but we get the impression she was in more because Ernest T. referred to her so often, speaking of his sweet Romeena. I've seen her on a few other shows (e.g. Dick Van Dyke Show), and she usually plays a sweet but somewhat ditzy person. Does anyone know anything else about her? What about her personal life? I wonder if she ever played roles that were very different from Ramona, or if she was always typed for this kind of role. I do recall some time back a report of Jackie attending a dinner at a restaurant with one of the TAGSRWC chapters (was it the Nashville chapter?). I believe they had a very positive report. Tom? George Petrie
I'm wondering if Mr. Kessel had any interviews or conversations with the fine character actor George Petie who appeared in the episodes Crime-free Mayberry and A Deal is a Deal? I remember him mostly in different appearances on The Honeymooners- he had a distinctive physical bearing and speaking voice- like an old time radio announcer! Does anyone remember him? Hog backbones
Somebody asked a long time ago about hog backbones. If you follow highway 52 north to Cana, Virginia, from Mount Airy, you can find all the hog backbones you want (???) for sale at The Mountain Man shop. It is a string of old tobacco barns connected by a common roof and boardwalk on the left side of the road.
