question

2009-04-11 Thread Martha
Before that, it was
Aunt Pittypat's house from 'Gone With the Wind' (1939).

I''m gonna need to do some looking so I'm checking. That's the house where
Scarlett locks the front door to keep the yankees out? And are we talking only
about the exterior?

Aunt Pittypat and Mrs. Wiley

2009-04-11 Thread brodahaver
To my knowledge, Laura Hope Crews (Aunt Pittypat) and Doris Packer were not
related. However, Packer's husband Rowland Edwards and Crews were born the
same year, 1879. Mrs. Wiley's husband was 25 years her senior.

Oh no! It's him. That animal. That creature!

Houses In Mayberry

2009-04-11 Thread Bob Bravetti
Since we know that the courthouse faces North, would that mean that the
Taylor house faces East?

Hi Again...2nd time

2009-04-11 Thread bill grella

Hi Mayberry

Just wantedto reintroduce myself to you and yours. My name is Bill Grella
and I was active a few years back. I live in Leesburg, VA. I hasve had the
honor to met a number of you at some of the past Mayberry events and I hope
that I will be able ot make some old acquaintences in the very near future.
I was/am known as themiloboys.

Still seeking my Thelma Lou

One thing that has probably been discussed, but if you saw the movie
Waitress then you may agree with me, but Andy stole the movie. He was the
epitome of a supporting actor with the best lines. Although he was supposed
to be a crumudgeon, he was a real kind hearted Mayberry guy.

Take Care Mayberry!

Cary Grant is mentioned a number of times. Inexplicably, he's called Gary

2009-04-11 Thread Ken Anderson
Don - you mean they were falsifying buildings in Mayberry. Must be a number
for that. I marvel that Barney would even enter them. After all he
wouldn't even buy a stamp from a stamp machine. Maybe that is why we rarely
rained in Mayberry. Must have been awful not having any roofs. Courthouse
did have a roof though as that was where all the Christmas bulbs were
stored. Often wondered why they didn't store them down in the basement next
to the furnace that Newton tried to clean.

Gibberish?

2009-04-11 Thread Doug Johnson

I was watching The Inspector on the local NBC station tonight and noticed
something I had never paid attention to before. As Inspector Case gives his
line about the Katzenjammer Kids and opens the courthouse door to leave, the
lettering on the building across the street can be clearly seen. After
rewinding and pausing it to make sure (ain't TiVo wonderful?) I was able to
make out the sign to read ER HAJWZK B. Anyone know what this is supposed to
mean? Sort of resembles Ernest T's recititation of the alphabet. Wonder what
exactly that store sells.
