Another Mayberry Resident on The Great Gildersleeves
I watched another episode of The Great Gildersleeves last night. It was The Expectant Father, and yet another Mayberry resident appeared. Of the five members of The Jolly Boy's Club in Summerfield, three are residents of Mayberry. Otis, Mr. Mundt, and Fred Walker are all members. Otis is Floyd the Barber, Mr. Mundt is Mr. Peevey the druggist, and Fred Walker is Judge Hooker. This gets curiouser and curiouser. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Barney's Modes of Transportation
Barney rode a bicycle and a horse. He also rode in Andy's little rowboat, Gertrude, that sank. I don't think Otis ever gave Barney a ride on his cow, so I guess I won't list that. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Citizen's Arrest
I could swear he tells Barney who is in the other cell that Floyd's filling station was robbed. Dave, I can see how it sounded like that, but if you listen carefully, he actually says Wally's filling station has been robbed. By the way, Amazon Video (amazon.com) has all the seasons of TAGS, and if you have a Prime membership, it is unlimited free streaming. They have each episode in its entirety with no commercials. Having the DVD's is the best thing, but if you don't, this is a good substitute. In the Service of the King, Larry J. Piano benches, stools and what not
This mention of the Taylors having a piano bench one time and a piano stool the next reminded me of something else I've previously noticed. In one episode, the Taylors' dining room table, which is usually rectangular, is instead round. Maybe they switched it with the kitchen table. Anybody know what episode that was, or if it happens more than once? (Don't wait on me to give the correct answer. I don't remember. But I think it was a color episode where I noticed it). Challenging Trivia Question
Here is a challenging trivia question for all our great trained noticers and trivia experts. There are many people who are never mentioned on TAGS who we have never seen in any episodes and who nave never been even mentioned by name. Name all the TAGS characters who have no name and have never appeared or been mentioned in any TAGS episodes. OK folks, get out those buckets, put them on, give it a good think, and come up with your answers. Winners will receive a free copy of my next book that I don't plan on writing. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
