Alumni(s) Sightings
This afternoon on TCM, they showed "The Courtship of Eddie's Father".Eddie was our own Opie Taylor. The movie was made in 1962, and if you did not know better you would have sworn this was an episode of TAGS.Jerry Van Dyke was also in the movie, but the star of the movie was none other than Glen Ford. He was just Glen Fording it all over the place. Orville Hendricks - Mount Pilot Butter and Egg Man ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
Mayberry Squad Car
The replica squad car that was on display with Karen Knotts is owned by Bob Dewitt. Bob is the great guy who sold me his first squad car. After selling his he later bought another Mayberry replica squad. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
Moving!!
All of the reasons that were listed in "What Keeps Mayberry Alive" in a recent post, are the exact reasons I am moving to Mt Airy, within the next 4 to 6 weeks. Can't wait. I am tired of having visited Mt Airy many times over the last decade, and having to leave to come home. However, I will not be an Ed Sawyer, & spook everyone! Keeping Mayberry alive
Well, Rebecca Spears, I think you summed things up pretty darn well for why all of us -- those alive during the show's run and after -- still enjoy TAGS, even after all these years. What a beautiful piece. Thanks for putting that together. Steve in Kansas City ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
Rebecca Spears post "What Keeps Mayberry Alive"
What an insightful and very well written post! You really got to the heart of what we all love about TAGS and Mayberry, and Mayberry is truly the center of it all. I just want to add that all of us and our mutual love for TAGS, and all that the show and Mayberry stand for, go a long way toward keeping that "Mayberry" feeling alive in all of us and hopefully we can instill a little of that into people we all meet in our everyday lives.
