Writing for a TV show has to be hard work. I think sometimes they have to suspend common sense to make the shows funny. If Andy or Barney had driven the squad car and the other car back to Mrs. Lesch, then we would not had the ending we had for the show. As for Goober's last name in one episode he was introduced to Mr. Harvey as Goober Beasley in the episode 'TV or Not TV'. The rest of the time he was Goober Pyle. Have a Mayberry kind of day.
