Re: Inside of Wally's
>>>Speaking of the inside of Mayberry businesses - We've seen many scenes of the outside of Wally's, including the attached repair garage but do we ever really see the inside of the gas station? Like Gomer behind the counter. Anyone recall inside shots?<<< Just off the top of my head, we see the inside of Wally's in "The Great Filling Station Robbery," "Andy Saves Gomer," "Goober and the Art of Love," "Opie's Job," "Goober's Contest," "Goober the Executive," "A Girl for Goober," and "Opie and the Carnival." There may be others I don't recall off hand. Thelma Lou (Janet) ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
Happy New Year!
Well, another year has come and gone, and I'm amazed again at the depth and breadth of TAGS information, knowledge, and trivia found in the WBMUTBB Digest. Happy New Year to all Digest contributors, readers, and TAGS fans everywhere. Joe Suszczynski Grand Island, NY P.S. I watched the new Matthew McConaughey Lincoln commercial a couple times, but I didn't pick up a TAGS reference - ??? ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
TAGS Buildings
To answer the question about whether or not they show the inside of Wally's station, check out the episode "The Great Filling Station Robbery". There are several scenes inside the station. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
inside the fillin' station
I do remember one where Goober (or Gomer?) was working on something and a barrel of oily rags started burning. Andy came in and stopped it. Then the one where teen Jimmy was accused of stealing stuff from the garage but it ended up being someone storing their car overnight. Just like a Trojan horse. Barney came up with the idea of stringing up a camera to catch the thief, only in his demonstration he took a picture of himself and forgot to wind the film. 'I give you science in action.' Dream job
I recently met a guy who used to work for WRAL, the CBS affiliate in Raleigh. We were talking TAGS and he said back in the 80's he was working in their promotions department and one of his jobs was to spend hours a day watching TAGS to pull clips for special commercials they would run before week long run of themed episodes. Getting paid to watch TAGS!! I believe it was a TV station in Raleigh that decided some new dating reality show was a little more risque for their tastes so they decided they would air TAGS instead. They missed a golden opportunity to show select TAGS episodes about love or lost love. To start the new year, let's put on our programmers hat and put together 5 themed episodes. I'll start with an easy one on Love: Monday: Barney and Thelma Lou, Pffft Tuesday: Goober and the Art of Love Wednesday: Class Reunion Thursday: Cyrano Andy Friday: A Wife for Andy "Floyd, what do you know about love?"
