Another surprising alumni sighting
I was watching a 1964 episode of "McHale's Navy" Saturday night, with the plot of having a Russian naval officer visiting the crew of PT-73 to learn about our tactics, etc. Turns out the officer was a woman, to everybody's surprise - and, to my surprise, she was none other than Sue Ane Langdon, a/k/a Nurse Mary, who went out on the nighttime picnic with Andy that Barney, of course, interrupted. Quite a difference between the two roles, especially when she went from a strict by-the-book officer to a vodka-drinking, sarong-wearing buddy of McHale's crew. Another versatile TAGS actress. Watching What About Bob Movie. Dr. Leo Marvin couldn't wake Bob up ( sleeping in his son's room ). Leo wanted him out before Good Morning America cast got there. He was bouncing Bob around in the bed and yelling. Nothing woke Bob.except the alarm clock. Instantly he rose smiling. Similar routine with Andy trying to wake Barney up to drive to the Darlings place. While watching the episode of "Andy and the Gentleman Crook", I noticed that Gentleman Dan boasted that he got his cigars a little man in Cuba. This tells me he only favors the best. Later, when Barney is going out, he asks Dan if there's anything he can get. Dan says he could use some cigars. Now, why after smoking Cuban cigars, would Dan settle for cigars from a drugstore in a small town? Quiet Sam
About a month ago we had new neighbors move in across the street from us. He really sticks to himself and I rarely see him outside. I have tried talking to him a few times, but he rarely says anything. He is always working in his garage after dark. I just found out his name, and now I know why he is so quiet and mysterious. His name is Sam. So I call him "Quiet Sam".
