Watched the episode "The Short Voyage Home" and saw 3 TAGS alumni in less than 5 minutes. The first 2 played the exact type of character they played on TAGS: Jay Novello, the crook in "Guest of Honor", and the crooked lawyer in "Otis Sues the County", played another smooth-talking swindler, trying to get ahold of Gomer's wad of cash. As soon as he left the scene, here comes "Hubcaps Lesh", also looking to relieve Gomer of his $1600. She was even dressed in the same outfit she wore as the crooked widow in "Barney's First Car".
But the third alum played the exact opposite type of role he played in TAGS. Mild-mannered choirmaster John Masters was a wanted criminal in the episode - the police nabbed him on Gomer's bus and took him into custody. I guess with all the casting, writing, and directing overlap between Gomer Pyle and TAGS, it's not too surprising to see the frequent crossover actors.
