TV Land

2007-04-22 Thread rlogsdon1
I agree with tv land getting away from it's core cause. The almight dollar has
forced it into too many modern era type shows. The powers that be need to
realize that if it would return to what it was meant to be it's economic
results could be tremendous.

Mayberry Moment

2007-03-27 Thread rlogsdon1
Reading this reminded me of something similar. In summer of  '93 was visiting
my aunt in Albuquerque. While there was visiting a shopping district called
Old Town. Making a long story short, the proprietor from who I bought the tee
shirts said he'd been in business long enough that he could read people real
well. He trusted me. I bought 3 or 4 shirts he told me to MAIL HIM A CHECK.
When I got back home to Jeffersonville, IN some days later I did just that.
People like that, unfortunately, are few far between. That gentlemen should
be an honorary Mayberryian.

Don't remember it word for word but one that comes to mind is a poem about
Barney in one of the episodes. Something along the lines of There once was a
deputy named Fife it ended with he never caught a crook in his life.

That's what I dearly cherish about TAGS-how it can take you back. I have such
warm memories of the old yellow light bulb shining on my grandma's back porch
as we spent many summer evenings shelling or breaking beans. You can't go
back but GOD Bless TAGS for bringing you almost as close.

Scenes I get Misty Eyed Over

2006-12-18 Thread rlogsdon1
Hi there, Untrained Voice. There are two scenes over the course of the show
that truly get to me. The first is from my favorite episode-Andy, Barn
Malcolm Tucker singing Little Brown Church in the Wildwood. When Malcolm
joins in starts singing-that shot of him singing the scene overall-there
never has been never will be a more touching scene in television. The other I
want to mention is from the bw reunion episode at the end when Andy Barn
sing the Mayberry High School song Andy asks Barn if the tears on his pillow
bespeak the pain that's in his heart. He says yes Ange says mine to. Guys, it
does mine too. Good night God Bless.
