Hey all, So many bugs in Mayberry have already been mentioned, but wasn't the love-bug mentioned at one time too? It seems to me that it was, but if it wasn't, it should have been, what with that duck pond being so near and handy. Also Opie once caught a fly while sitting in a church service. Course, his Pa reprimanded him for it, but he did have that poor fly clutched tightly in his little fist! Has anyone ever seen a bugged show written into the theme like sittn' on the porch catching fireflies? Well, in Sermon for Today, Opie caught a fly in church, although we don't actually see the fly. And then in Opie the Birdman, Opie collected worms and bugs for the baby birds, though, again, I don't recall that we actually see any of them.
