TAGS fans,

I think the "T" in Mr. Bass's name stands for Tiberius and that, before "Return 
to Mayberry" he married his darling Romeena and they had a child.  The Ancrums 
were not happy with this union, so they stole her away and hid her out in Iowa. 
 There, she secretly told her children about her one true love and they, in 
turn, kept the memory alive by giving one child in each generation the middle 
name "Tiberius".  One of her descendants married George Kirk and, thus was born 
James Tiberius Kirk in Riverside, Iowa, in the 23rd century, a young man who 
inherited all of his ancestor's fighting prowess (and knows how to kiss good).

Perhaps Ernest T's  middle name is "Thrower" or  "Throwing"

Speaking as an official member of the Thrower Family...haven't ever seen
Ernest T at a family reunion nor heard any mention of him in the yearly
"Tales of Yore" as far as I remember...
