Eddie Jones, perhaps the biggest fan of TAGS in Macon, Georgia, has died after a long fight with cancer.
He and his wife, Peggy, had been to Mayberry Days no less than 15 times. When Eddie's sons, Ben and Dan, recently restored their father's boat they painted "Aunt Bee, Myers Lake, Mayberry, NC" on the bow. One of Eddie's final visits to Mt. Airy included an overnight stay at Andy's homeplace.
