Just watched a Maverick episode with both Will Wright and Tol Avery - the two Ben Weavers. Wright was a lawyer representing a man accused of killing Avery. It's like if both Nurses Marys were in a show together. Other double actors as same character are Dud Wash and Floyd Lawson. Can't think of another pair of actors playing the same TAGS character. In the episode where Ben Weavers store was getting robbed by the little old lady who clanked ( and little old ladys ought never clank ) , what was in the glasses on the table ? Ben Weaver accidentally shook them while hiding from Barney. I saw liquid in them or thought I did. We Shop at Weavers for Our fFne Eye Wear--Where Do You Go
This is to Bob who noticed Andy reading a Mount Airy newspaper in the Butter and Egg man episode, and for anybody else who's interested. You can also see him reading a Mount Airy newspaper (but it's not real clear so you have to look hard) in the episode, Andy and Opie, Housekeepers. It's when Aunt Bee gets a call to help a sick relative and Andy says, She suffers from it so, they have a shot of the paper then when you can see Airy name pretty well. Before I knew that was where it was from, I wondered where in the world this place was and what it meant to the show. Me and Lydia like to check it out and we don't have any of them fancy things that you can zoom in or out or nothing like that. All we got is our eyes and some reading glasses we got over at Weaver's for $18.50 that we share. Not together. What are you thinking? That me and Lydia wear them glasses together. No, she wears them for awhile and then she turns them over for me to wear. Well, you know I can't resist those early after Thanksgiving sales. I got there at 6 am mind you and had to wait in line! I saw Idell Bushey, some businessman named Neil Bentley, Asa, Al Becker, Tom Foley and just too many others to name. The Darlins had come down out of the mountains and were playing music while we waited. Just as I was about to get in the store to look around, there was some problem with a shoplifter and Ben had to shut the store down for a few. I just waited for Floyd to open up and got a haircut. Speaking of Weavers, is anyone out there having a problem with an order? I ordered 2 items on Nov.2, had my credit card billed on Nov. 4, but still no items have arrived... I also sent an e-m asking about the order and never heard back about that either. Now,,, I'm not jumping to any conclusions here, and I know there's a rush this time of year, but I would like to know what's going on. Feed back from anyone?
