seven thoughts on women in Mayberry

2013-11-19 Thread Cathy
When I grow up I want to be Miss Peggy. (specially how she can sing on the
porch and make it sound like she's in a recording studio) ...roses love
sunshine, violets love dew..

If I were a drinkin' woman, I'd want to try a Sazerac. And I would sample
the snails and not let them go on by.

I wonder if Chuck (the bigger they are the nicer they are)O'Malley is
married. Maybe he was visiting the in-laws up in Dee-troit.

Just about the sweetest scene of the series in my opinion is the one where
Barney and Thelma Lou are looking at furniture in the window. The way she
says, I know when he says he's not the kind of guy who can be
pressured--her affection for him is, well, sweet.

Oh, and I'd love to see the little fat mayor's wife ride out on that horse
and light into hollerin opera stuff.

My favorite thing to do of an afternoon is sit on the porch in a rocker and
hum Rock of Ages.

And number 7: with Aunt Bee I get on my knees and thank heaven I have a
place to go and something to do.

Women of Mayberry

2007-11-18 Thread Marie
saw this at Ebay: http://starturl.com/womenmayberry

My Aunt Emma isn't pictured, nor are Nurse Peggy, Lydia Crosswaite,
Ernest T's Sweet Romeena, Laura Lee Hobbs, Mrs. Emmitt Fix-It-Man, or
Mrs. Sprague. The Fun Girls aren't there because they're from Mt. Pilot,
I reckon. At least I finally get to see Sarah at her job.
