about Warren
Since I saw some notes on Warren here.. Well really not about Warren but I sometimes think how perfect it would have been if Jerry Van Dyke could have been deputy In Mayberry. Really if you think about it, he would have been too much for the show,... kinda like a Ernest T Holland Lexington NC Less than 1 hour from Mayberry. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Re: Question about Warren Parker /Dark Shadows
Didn't find any Columbo episodes where he was listed, but found 2 Cannon episodes he was in. And of course TAGS 1961-1965 The Andy Griffith Show (TV series) County Fair Judge / Harlan Fergus / Mr. Meldrim the bank president / … – TV or Not TV (1965) … Mr. Meldrum – Barney and the Cave Rescue (1964) … Mr. Meldrim the bank president – The Bank Job (1962) … Mr. Meldrim, the Bank Manager – The Pickle Story (1961) … County Fair Judge – Mayberry Goes Bankrupt (1961) … Harlan Fergus Just wondering how many Dark Shadows TV Show fans that are out there. Warren Parker made me think of Lara Parker as Angelique was my favorite character on that show. They have a huge following and have conventions each year as well. Who else loves Barnabus? I know it's off topic, but we do venture down the rabbit trail occasionally! ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Question about Warren Parker (Harlan Fergus/Mr. Meldrum character)
I need some trivia assistance: I've been collecting TAGS, Twlight Zone, The Fugitive, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes on DVD, as well as my favorite one-eyed detective, Columbo. While watching Columbo season 3's Publish or Perish episode, with Jack Cassidy playing the main guest character, Riley Greenleaf, I noticed Riley's butler at his mansion was played by Warren Parker, who played Mayberry's Bank President Town Treasurer, first as Harlan Fergus (the episode when Frank Myers bond nearly bankrupts Mayberry), then later cast as Mr. Meldrim (or Meldrum) in several episodes. But he's not listed anywhere online or anywhere else for that matter as even being in this episode. He said a few lines, and seemed somewhat disgusted and annoyed with the role. when they speak a few lines, they generally are posted on the credits. I watched the episode several times, and swear it is him. If anybody else gets a chance to watch this excellent Columbo episode, please verify this, if you get the chance. All of the 1970's Columbo's were great, especially the 3 episodes with the brilliant Jack Cassidy, RIP. This is bugging me. I may even contact the Screen Actors Guild to verify it was him, and I'm as anti-union as they come. I guess you could say this is turning into a real compelsion. I agree about Warren
I agree with Mary about Warren not having a chance in Mayberry. I thought he was very funny and his scenes with Goober were very comical. I also liked the episode where they shoot the cannon. I'm sorry they did not give him more air time. Did Jack Burns and Elinor Donahue leave by their choice? I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I don't know. Happy New Year everyone!
