Sleeping

2020-05-31 Thread Ken Anderson
Yes, Janet, I was sleeping. I was having a terrible dream. I dreamed that
I went to Floyd's to have a manicure. And while Ellen was doing my
fingernails, I fell sound asleep. When I awoke I found out that not only
did she do all of my fingers, but she also gave me a pedicure. A pedicure
that I did not ask for, Well, one thing led to another and she ended up
popping me right in the nose. Floyd claimed he did not see it because he
was giving Mr. Schwump a hair cut and Goober was looking at a comic book.
I was just about to punch Goober in the nose when I woke up.

sleeping

2020-05-26 Thread Janine L Johnson
Yes, I'm sleeping extra since this virus debacle began and also cooking
more what with the extra time on my hands. But mostly I'm getting to
watch TAGS nearly all day long to Me-TV making this month a tribute to
Mayberry! I've put most of the episodes along with Mayberry RFD on the
DVR along with a couple of the other shows on which Mayberry alumni
appeared. And of course I'm taping the Return film on the 31st. It's
been most enjoyable as there are shows I had never seen before! I'm just
perplexed as to the changeable status of Aunt Bee after Andy and Helen
got married and I guess left town. Seems as if the writers were a bit
befuddled and therefore vague as to factual details. But in any case I
always enjoy being in my hometown and spending time visiting with
everyone. If only there were a real Mayberry to which I could move. I
still entertain my daydreams of a real-life theme park based on
Mayberry; can you just envision it? It's absolutely thrilling in my mind!

BARNEY SLEEPING AT THE TAYLORS

2014-03-11 Thread Bob Castrucci
Not to make a big moulage out of it, but Barney was seen upstairs in a bedroom
at the Taylors...with his suitcase when he barricaded the door with the
dresser because an escaped convict had threatened himI'll get you for this
Deputy...at least that's what my bucket is saying. I sure am
enjoying all these trivia questions...by the way.keep up the good work
everyone. Actually, I have a trivia question of my own. I watched an episode
the other day (Aunt Bee and Mr. Goss) where Otis lit a cigarette inside the
courthouse and then threw the match on the floorand later in the same
episode, i saw Andy light a cigarette on the front porch, and then just threw
the match down. Made me think of quite a few other occasions where cigarettes
and matches were just thrown on the ground or actually in the courthouse. Any
thoughts about this???

Andy's pranks on sleeping Barney

2011-08-20 Thread Janet Anderson
In this episode, Andy covers up
Barney's head and feet with the blanket, and Barney gets trapped under the
covers. How many other times can you think of when Andy pulls a prank on
Barn when he catches him asleep?

In addition to the hat-switch prank Suzi mentioned, there was the time Andy hid
Barney's shoes.

Adventure sleeping

2009-02-01 Thread Vicki Pillow
Hello Fellow Mayberrians,
We just got our power back on this morning, as we were in the area of the
country that suffered the ice storm. We were in the dark (and without
heat...an all electric house is great until the power goes out) for 5 days.
It sure is nice to be able to read the Mayberry digest again. We camped
out in our living room with our version of dogs, dogs, dogs and hunkered
down to wait it out. Opie would have loved it, it was adventure sleeping.
Glad to be back in the land of electricity. Hoping our neighbors to the
north, still without power, get it back soon.

Lots of luck to you and yours,

Gomer Sleeping in Church

2008-05-24 Thread Ken Anderson
I just finished watching Gomer falling asleep in church during the sermon.
It reminded me of a famous quote by Abraham Lincoln.
If everyone who ever fell asleep in church was laid end to end, they would
be a lot more comfortable.
Keep a good thought.

Barney sleeping in the back room

2007-11-28 Thread james carroll
I was wondering how many times Andy caught Barney asleep in the courthouse. He
always pulled some kind of trick on Barney like hiding his shoes. It was always
hilarious whenever Andy caught him.

Sleeping Beauty

2006-07-17 Thread Paul Mulik
In the special features on the Sleeping Beauty DVD, they do confirm that
Frances Bavier was considered for the role one of the fairies (they even
show a picture of her), but they don't come right out and say the final
character was modeled after her. One of them sure looks a lot like her,
though.

--Paul

It seems like I heard or saw that Aunt Bee was one of the models for one
of the three fairies in Sleeping Beauty. Does anyone know if this true?

Thanks!
Amy
