Personally I think you'd be better off stripping it out, filling the
thing with water and putting goldfish in it, but that's just my
opinion :-)

 Dear all

Forgive the wildly OT post here but you're all a multi-talented bunch
so I thought I'd pick your brains while I'm Google-less on this

I've got my hands on an old iMac DV+ in Ruby that I'm using for some
cross-platform development. However, being the arty type I'm not too
keen on my iMac being red when my P4 system and room decor as a blue
theme going on. Now I can obtain a broken down Indigo iMac DV+ on
eBay for near-pennies and I thought why not just get this broken
Indigo model and switch the case over?.

Now although I'm an experience hardware engineer and used to
stripping things liek this down, I thought I'd ask around first to
see if it's feasible and any pitfalls I may encounter before I start
stripping down a perfectly functioning iMac.

Does anybody know of any things like permanent fixings or specific
moldings I may encounter which would prevent me getting the cases
 off?

Yes I know it does, but none of those results help me much.
Don't want to sound ungrateful, but do you think I'd post wildly OT if my
Google searches (of which I've already read most of the result returned by
those two queries) returned anything useful?

IMO offering a Google search as advice isn't particularly helpful, and kinda
feels like use Google instead of bothering us with your OT shenanigans to
me.

Or did I just wake up on the wrong side of the bed this year?

I'll agree and disagree. On this list the vast majority of posters can and
will Google for answers but there are other lists I'm on where posters can't
be relied upon to do that. In other cases the person didn't search using the
correct terminology.

I'll split the difference.

I had no way of knowing if you knew that case mod was the general term
for the maniacal hobbyists who put computers into ever wierder spaces. I
should have been less terse.

[wdvltalk] question regarding website

2005-04-26 Thread _mErKuRyO
I have a website its URL is http://merkuryo.freewebpage.org/ while
designing it in my PC I test it both with Mozilla Firefox and Internet
Explorer and it works fine. However, once I upload it and access the
website from the server the main site page
(http://merkuryo.freewebpage.org/mainpage.htm), which contains
framesets, doesn't get displayed in Internet Explorer. What's weird is
if I visit the individual frames' URLs I am able to view it using IE.
What do you think is going wrong? Could it be that Yahoo! Popup
Blocker is blocking my site as well?

Re: [wdvltalk] question regarding website

2005-04-26 Thread Portman
I can't open your page at all - I get a blank screen - but I think that
some browsers don't show frames for certain reasons. Not sure why. I
did do a site for someone and they wouldn't pay me my full fee because
they said that some of their visitors complained that they couldn't get
to the site - totally not my fault at all. I don't think it has to do
with the pop up blocker . . .

Looking at your mainpage (framesets) you have this typed at the top
/noscript/div/xmp/style
That should be deleted, it might be what's messing up your pages in IE.
Delete it, then test your page again.
