Re: [wdvltalk] 3D rotation of an transparent image

2005-12-08 Thread Ross Clutterbuck

Hi

So, does anyone on the list know of software that can do

There's a lot of things out there that can do what you want, but how many of
them are going to be useful? Adobe After Effects can export as Flash and has
some fantastic 3D tools to give this thing some depth, but After Effects is
probably overkil on this (unless you download the 30-day trial version for
this one-off project). Also you could try looking at Swift 3D which is great
for 3D Flash work.

What exactly does your client mean by "adding some depth"? Depth via
perspective? Drop shadows? Embossing?

[wdvltalk] 3D rotation of an transparent image

2005-12-08 Thread Jure Spik

Hello list!

A customer asked me to design him a rotating logo. Since I like to obey
the customer  I did a simple flash animation that shrinks the
image to 1% of its width and then expands it, which looks like rotation
 and works pretty well, but
he said he also wants the image to have some depth.

I tried xara3d to create the desired effect, but it's only good for
rotating 3-d text, and also... the image should be transparent - not
just with simple borders around it.

So, does anyone on the list know of software that can do, what my
costumer desires?
