Is this an example of a reply that is too terse?

I think you mean "the defaults for smartgrid do not allow searching by 
integer, but you can customize it with your own search function."

(I am in fact pretty confident that you (Massimo) mean that, but I want to 
avoid confusion both now and as an archived answer.)
